GLAD MINISTRY

Giving Love And Dignity is a ministry that is fun and rewarding for everyone involved and build mission awareness at the sametime. It’s basis is taken from Luke 10:37, when Jesus asks who is the good neighbor? The man says “He who showed mercy” then Jesus said “go and do likewise”. This ministry is tailored for individuals, families, churches, Sunday school classes, small groups and anyone with a giving heart to get involved in a quick and affordable manner. It’s a great way to be involved in the Great Commission .Once we get these boxes to Haiti we distribute them in many of the isolated and inaccessible mountain villages that receive so little help.  Guidelines for GLAD boxes

  1. Fill out the GLAD Ministry packing slip and enclose a $5.00 check for each box to help cover shipping costs. Please remember every box must have a packing envelope and a check or one check covering all the boxes
    ( 20 boxes x $5 = $100). The $5 helps us cover expenses of getting them from Indiana to Haiti and then on up into the mountain villages. If your church chooses it may want to collect the $5 for each box then issue one check to GAP Ministry to cover all the boxes. The shipping fee must be covered for every box so that we can send them to Haiti. All checks payable to GAP Ministry.
  2. Use only 12 x 10 x 8  boxes for ease of shipment and similar amount of items enclosed. You may purchase a 12 x 10 x 8 Ready Post box at your Post office for about $1.98. If your church is assembling a large quantity of boxes you may want to purchase that size box at an office supply store.
  3. Ship the boxes via U.S. Postal Service, UPS or FedX to:

    If you are collecting and assembling a large quantity of GLAD Boxes and are located in N.E. Indiana give us a call at 260-691-3806, 260 -609-4484 or e-mail smossburg@msn.com .or submit the contact form. We may be able to come pick them up at your church. These boxes will still require that you cover the $5 shipping costs on to Haiti.
  4. GLAD BOX item list  Please use a 12 x 10 x 8 box then choose items from the different categories. Remember that many times we will be distributing these through children to take home to their families so put in assorted items so each person gets something. You can donate good quality items from your home but no holes, tears, soiled, inappropriate, rude words, pictures or large size clothes or shoes over size 10. Also no pills, liquids, breakable, war or violence related or battery toys nor food items are allowed. Please include only items on the list.   

    Clothing T-shirts, socks, underwear, sandals, sneakers, ball cap, large bandanas 
    Games dominoes, Uno, deck of cards, marbles, crayons, color book, picture books, small stuffed animal 
    Health bandages, tape, gauze, first aid cream 
    Hygiene tooth paste, tooth brush, bar soap, hair ties & barrettes, powder, deodorant, nail clippers, towel, wash cloth
    School pens, pencils, ruler, scissors, chalk, folder, binder, paper, flash cards 
    Sewing :thread, buttons, needles, scissors, safety pins
    Tools hammer, pliers, folding ruler, mason, string, metal file, pocket knife, whetstone
